Father Jean-Juste, one can see by the outpouring of love, sorrow, affection, admiration, gratitude, and remembrance that you did right by your community in Sainte Claire Parish, in Little Haiti, in Port-au-Prince, in Miami, at sea and under the sea, washed ashore or eaten by sharks, in courtrooms, in factories, in detention centers, in jails, in transit, here and there, neither here nor there. You loved them all and you fought for justice with every breath you took. You are a hero of our true independence. We will keep your spirit alive, in the struggle and in victory, always.
