My cousin is in the process of writing an article on how Konpa is being influenced by the American culture. So we got into discussing it somewhat, and I wanted to get some other views.

The main influence it has had on Konpa in my opinion, is that we are finding more and more songs today with English parts in them, English titles, or "Rap/Raggae" parts in them. Or in Live performances these days, many bands are including parts of American songs in their performances, examples being, T-Vice, Carimi, Zenglen, Djakout Mizik, etc.

What do you guys think of the American culture finding it's way in more and more of our events, Konpa songs, etc.?

Why and when do you think is started?

Are there some examples that stick out in your mind when you think of this?

Any other thoughts on the matter?

Please share! :D [/colo

Just a side note :D

I was just trying to think about different songs with English in them or things like that, and I just remembered my very favorite Rodrigue Milien song "Nostalgie" :D

I love that song, and the English part is so funny to me, and is one of the things that made me fall in love in the song in the first place :P

In any case, I'm waiting to see your thoughts on the matter above :D
