A Different Bicentenary

Post by Gelin » Sun Mar 04, 2012 10:45 am

A period of 200 years of history in the life of a nation is long time, and people are right to celebrate it when it happens:

* In 1976, the United States celebrated its 200th anniversary - Great stuff!

* In 1989, France celebrated its 200th anniversary - Beautiful stuff!

* In 2004, Haiti attempted to celebrate its 200th anniversary - Mmm Hmm!

It's the same length of time, but a very different outcome in the land called 'the mother of liberty'.
